'CABEÇALHOS'
1st to 10th March, Avenida Arriaga, Funchal, Madeira (PT)
I am so happy to say that I have been invited back to the 50th Edition of Funchal's Book Fair (50ª Feira do Livro do Funchal). This year, I was challenged by the City Hall's Department of Culture to build four separate
structures (or "heads") that represent the universes and personalities of four Madeiran authors and
cultural agents: Ana Teresa Pereira, José António Gonçalves, Maria Aurora Carvalho Homem and
Maria da Trindade de Mendonça. I was inspired by any article, interview or literary critic I could
find about them to create abstract images, under which you can hear texts about and by
these authors (some with the author's own voice).
'CABEÇALHOS' (tr. 'HEADLINES') can be visited until March 10th. If you're in Madeira,
don't miss it! Check out the Fair's programme right here. More about my work on
pages 19 to 22.
'Quem tem medo do Lobo Mau? – a instalação'
10th November to 5th January, Centro de Desenvolvimento Humano Cecilia Zino, Funchal, Madeira (PT)
'Quem tem medo do Lobo Mau? – a instalação' (tr. 'Who's afraid
of the Big Bad Wolf? – the installation') has recently closed at Centro de Desenvolvimento Humano Cecilia Zino. This was my first solo exhibition in Madeira and I couldn't be happier with the result.
I'll soon be updating the website with images from this incredible adventure. For now, you can learn more about the project here.
